Awareness. Active Living. Access to Care.
Mental Wellness Connection organizes its work around three connected focus areas that together bring mental healthcare within reach for individuals and families across Arkansas.
Awareness
MWC helps individuals and communities better understand mental health through education, resources, assessments, safety planning, and referral networks. Awareness helps reduce stigma, encourages early support, and connects people with the information and resources they need to support their mental well-being.
This focus area includes:
- Mental health education
- Resources for individuals and families
- Validated screening tools, such as the PHQ-4, to help people understand their mental health (screening is not a diagnosis)
- Safety planning support
- Referral networks connecting people to appropriate care
Active Living
Mental wellness is strengthened through movement, healthy habits, and connection with others. Through community wellness events and activities, we encourage active living as an important part of overall mental health.
This focus area includes:
- Community wellness events
- Activities that support healthy habits
- Opportunities to connect with others in the community
Access to Care
MWC connects individuals and families with outpatient mental health services through counseling vouchers, supervised graduate counseling interns, licensed provider partners, and trusted referral resources. By reducing barriers to care, we help more people receive the support they need.
Counseling Vouchers
Financial assistance that helps offset the cost of outpatient counseling for eligible individuals, when funding is available.
